You'll be investigated right and left, probably even stalked by ICE to ensure it is not a fraudulent marriage. They'll make surprise visits to your home to make sure you all are actually living together & have what seems to be a real marriage.

If you marry the girl, and she can sponsor you financially, and you don't have a bad record with immigration, and you can prove that you are in a true relationship (not getting married to get your papers), and can become a permanent resident (3 years or more), then can take the immigration test several years later and pass it, then yes, you can be a us citizen.

If your a legal resident, greencard or visa, and you marry an American, you will have to file "Change of Status" papers with ICE (Immigration service). They are pricy, over $700 as of about 8 years ago when I married my Chinese wife, but you get perminant residency with all the trimings and eventual citizenship (if so desired) in about 5 or 6 years
