I have a recently aqquired a pet turtle as a gift, but I've read that you shouldn't clean the cage in bathtubs or sinks because of risk of disease spreading.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can clean the cage?
The only other idea I have is outside with a hose, but that sounds quite time consuming... my only option?

I was up here at my grandmother's house in florda, well I'm still down here but I was gecko hunting, I love to bring animals into the house over night so they don't get hurt or what ever, but this is the first time with a gecko,(I have been studying animals sense I was to young to remaber so yes I know how to take care of other animals, mostly warm blooded.) It has a cut on its neck, nothing bad but I don't want it to die because it hurt, i so I brough it in, now sense I plan to 'play nurse' as my grandfather calls it I need to know what it eats. I don't know what type of gecko it is, (I normaly take care of wildlife in Michigan, so I don't know much about reptiles.) But I hate to see anything hurt so I want to help it. Please help with what it would eat. (Please don't tell me its not good to take animals off the street, and help what is around. I get that enough from my parents and other family. I can't stand to see anything hurt. If it was up to me I'd take of everything of earth.)

First, why do people buy reptiles they don't know how to care for or even what it is. Second, Why is it when people buy a reptile get it home and when they realize it's sick then take it back to the petshop to die? They return it like it's a broken toy! If you bought it then it's yours and you should take them to a vet, like a responsible pet owner. If it were a dog or a cat you would take it to a vet well why not a reptile?

Hi! I have inhereted a tank with gorgeous green tree frogs. One is a tiny lime green one, the other bigger and fatter. Only the bigger and fatter one seems to croak, and I think it's when he's eating crickets. But how big do these guys get, and how big/tall of a tank are best? Do they fare well with other kinds of reptiles also? How many do you recommend keeping together (I have two), and how do you know if they're male and female -- I dont know if since one croaks it means they;re one of each? Thanks so much! Beth

I have a ball python and a green tree python, they're about a foot and a half long, I was thinking of combining the two terrariums into a large one. It seems that the two snakes tolarate each other when brought close behind glass, so I wonder if anybody had luck mixing these two pythons together. One stays on the branches almost the entire time while the other one doesnt even use the branches.

I read online that they can carry a lot of diseases unlike most pets, thats what i read somewhere online. i also don't have too much space for one, so would they survive in a 30 gallon tank? (that would be best) if not, the most i can buy is a 40 gallon. any suggestions on the cheapest place to buy them. and how are they at handling?

i am just curious to hear opinions. i am an avid snake keeper with 4 different types of boas and pythons (six snakes) and i am looking at getting at least one more in the near future. i am experienced with reptiles so ease of husbandry is not important and their general demeanor is of no importance. what is your favorite? and why?????
thanks in advance for input and opinions.........

okay well two weekes ago i found a turtle in the road of my community so cute couldnt have been more then a few weeks old (red eared slider) well i live close to a lake and i think thats where he came from i kept him in my house for a few weeks i bought him a lagoon and food and took good care of him i went to the pet store and realized how much work was needed to really care for him the proper way and i started to feel bad that i would be locking him up in a cage and makeing fake sunlight so he can live so i let him go in the nearby lake where there a many many turtles just like him...so what i need to know is if he will survive and if he will adapt to the other turtles

I have two RES Turtles that I inherited from another family. The female is huge and is biting the legs of the male. I have seperated them but the female really needs a pond. Anyone know who to call to find a home for these guys? Also, if I kept these turtles outside in a kiddie pool, I would have to keep the water heated, right? Our daytime temp is about 65deg right now. Thanks for any info or help!
