I am going to be getting a leopard gecko, and have a few ?s. first of all i will be using a 10 gall. with a small (zoo-med) undertank heater. and what wattage would be best for the basking light? im thinking 50 or 75?? and should I get two thermometers (one for each side of tank) and also whats a good bedding material, I was thinking about putting half sand and half rocks (like the kind of rocks you buy for fishtanks) to give it a desert feel. or maybe bark or aspen??? also If you can give me any other advice that'd be great, THANKS

I'm getting one next weekend! If you have one and you give me information that's great too! I just need to know some information! Like I will probably buy a book and stuff! And I do know how much they cost! PetCo care sheets online don't help, my computer can't view them! Yes, I'm searching google right now! No, I don't want your suggestions for other pets. No, I don't mind if you give me a link! Hope that narrows down your answers!

Hi i own two wonderful redfoots Basil and Willie they weigh 1.7kgs and 2.1 kgs so they are big boys. Recently i have noticed a raising on the shell on the sheild shape at the base of the scutes on both of them which leads me to think it is a diet problem. they live in a very large viv with access to the room at all times. i have a shower tray in it for access to drink and soak and also a humidifier to mirror humid conditions. I feed a varied diet of weeds fruit (only 5%) and romaine lettuce watercress mushrooms peppers small amounts of kale or spring greens pansies etc. Also I grate cuttlefish on their food every other day and also nutrobal every other day.
I have had the torts for three years and they approx eight years old they are very tame curious and sexually active even though they are both male...
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening??? The raising has only occurred recently I have tried looking on the internet without any luck

It was given to me as a birhtday persent. I looked him up on the internet and have his cage set up the way that it needs to be and I know what to feed him and all that stuff. I was wondering if anyone else has one or knows anything about them that I might not have already found out about them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What should i use as substrate for my armadillo lizard? The pet store had him on lizard litter and curiously enough fed them on it. I honestly shy away from the smaller wood chips and stuff like that that can easily impact him. Soduku, my 2 inch long armadillo lizard, has been doing fine on the "reptile Carpet" but i am curious in making his tank alot more "natural". I have had lizards before but i am sorta new to this breed. Are they naturally desert dwelling and benefit from calci sand? i heard thats better sand to get for it dont cause impaction. and can be digested
my long tailed lizard in another tank is on reptile carpeting as well. but i wonder if moss would be better in holding in moisture because longtailed lizards need higher humidity. but again does moss cause impaction? she spends most of her time up off the ground anyhow but just in case. any suggestions would help alot.

My bf's baby bearded dragons (1 mo and 4mos) were left exposed to sunlight for about 20 minutes.. after that when he came back, one of them died and the other is still breathing but it seemed that he had a really really bad sunburn! He barely moves and his skin is a stiff! We immersed his half body in a shallow basin of water..

Help! Can he still make it?? What can we do??

Can anyone tell me what a "yellowbelly" python really is?

I have a ball python, but he has a pink tongue, and slightly lighter color spot on his head, and his tummy is a light lavender in some places? i know yellowbellys are hard to recongnize, but his belly isn't yellow, it's lavender... Is he just normal? any ideas or suggestions?

p.s. he's still young so we can't breed him to find out for sure, i'm just looking for advice what he could be.

I have just purchased an iguana from someone who did not want him anymore. I know nothing about these creatures but the man told me to feed him on locust etc.. I have just read on the net that they should have a vegetarian diet. Can anyone give me some information and recommend a good book for him.
