I bought my son two frogs for Christmas. One hasn't been doing well since the begining. The other one was fine and happy, but today he started getting this white fuzz like stuff all over his body. He's not swimming around either. What's wrong with it?

My two (male and female) red-eared slider turtles have been showing awkward behavior. They would go up to each other, put their front legs up to the sides of their heads and wiggle their "hands". I'm pretty sure they're too young to mate. What's going on? They won't tell me...XD

My son caught a little lizard the other day at my mom's house. She let him keep it as a pet, but we are going to need to feed it. He found a few flies and the lizard liked them....but is that what they really eat? Anyway, I think it might be a chameleon because two days ago it was green, and now it is brown. Or, is it some other kind of lizard, and it is sick. (We live in central Arkansas!)

I have always thought having a pet snake was so pointless. Think about it. All they do is eat and sleep in the cage you have them in. You know they don't like you. and if you have a snake big enouph they could eat you. i have always wondered this. And i still don't get why people have snakes as pets?

I was thinking about getting a snake soon, and need a little help deciding what species to get. I know that I do not want a large snake, like a python, boa, or even corn snake. So what kind of snake is available that does not get very big, and is fairly cheap to feed?

I have had them since October, and one grew from quarter size to 4inches across, the other is about a 50cent piece size. I feed salmon frozen and Reptomin. What do others feed theirs and the most important, mine will just keep eating after giving him 1/8"x2"very thin strip of fish. I feed this 3 times a day plus 4 Reptomin stix with it. How much should I allow to eat and how ofter? The Turtle sites don't tell much.

I bought two Red-Eared Sliders last night, both approximately 1 1/2 inches in length. I have them both sharing a flat bottomed bowl at the moment. Its about four inches deep and eight inches across, I filled it with water and put in several rocks (which were thoroughly washed) for them to rest on. They seem comfortable enough, although I do plan on putting them in a larger tank within the next few days.

My question is, how can I get them to eat? I found a website that said they eat plants and recommended carrots and lettuce, among other things. I shredded some up for them and put it in their bowl, along with some food pellets I had gotten, but they haven't touched any of it.

Also, what sort of tank setup would they be most comfortable with? I noticed that they've managed to kick around the rocks I've put in there and thought maybe they didn't like how it was set up.

I just got a Russian Tortoise a week ago. He has everything he needs. A heat lamp, a UVB lamp, timothy hay, "reptile litter", fresh water, and a hide box. I also bathe him every 2-3 days. Each bath he drinks and urinates. But for some reason my turtle will not eat. I have tried giving him a lot of things.
I have given him:
Cucumber
Tomato
Carrot
Romaine Lettuce
Cantaloupe
Grapes
Radish Sprouts
Broccoli, and broccoli sprouts
and Cabbage.

But he hasn't ate any of it. I think I caught him eating some of his "reptile litter" which I got because it is edible, but it really does not have much nutritional value. I'm very worried that he isn't going to live if he doesn't eat soon. What do I do? I can not afford to take him to the vet right now.

How long after the snake has eaten is it OK to move it back to its home. My snakes are used to being handled and it once the food gets down a ways they don't seem to mind.

I am not asking for opinions on snakes as pets, just some advice from other snake owners. If you have such strong opinions, please "spend" your 5 points and ask your own question instead of piggy backing onto mine. Cheers.

Hi, I just recently purchased a Jungle Carpet Python. She is a yearling. She is very aggressive. Every research page said they were nippy but I've been bitten more than 15 times already. I've had her for about three days already. She is a very good eater. Feeding on pinkies. She is like this when I take her out of cage. She has a nice tank filled with branches,driftwood,2 hiding places-one on ground and one in the air. When I take her out to hold her she is evereywhere.Anything that moves she strikes at it . My famiy is very scared of her. She is being handled for about 3 hours a day. Ineed help?????
