We were walking down a busy road in september-october, and we found a horrible sight! there were atleast 50 smashed baby turtles. There were 3 living. Cars were going to run them over so we took them home. It seems they were bound to die because that seems a little late in season for baby turltes. We took 3 home, but DO NOT plan on keeping them because we think they are 3 baby snappers. They have long, alligator tails, and moss stuff on their shell, with little yellow dashes along their shell side. We put them in a tank and gave them food, they are eating but when can we get rid of them, what age are they ready to go? And where can we free them?

i have two one is green and black and the other one is dark brown and black. The green one is healthy but the dark brown one keeps making this snapping clicking noise with its mouth and it wont eat the red worms i feed them. I dont have crickets because the last time i bought them i kept finding them around the house! Its getting skinnier and skinner i feel bad.

Thankyou for your advice. I am going to try the crickets again dusted with calcium power. I use Fluker's liquid vitaman spray. Found at Pet co. I will also check my lighting.

I bought 2 cornsnakes, supposedly both 2.5 yrs old approx. I was told one was male, one female, but going from the tails they both taper past the cloaca. The one I was told was male just shed, and the one I was told was female just exhibited classic male mating behaviour, he(?) was climbing all over the one that just shed and was twitching. I read that the female gives off pheremones after shedding that the male will be attracted to and will then attempt to mate. My question is : is it possible that they are both male or both female and are just going through the motions? I know dogs and cats of the same sex do that.

Instead of keeping my boa and anotther snake in his cage, I often let him have free range of an assortment of large plants and two 7 foot fig trees I keep in the corner of my living room. They have access to heat and I only put them in their cage when i am gone for a long amount o time. The seem to love being up high or curled up around the base where they have access to water and I will even feed them when the come down. I used to keep anoles on a large tree and ferns in my living room before I meet and would like to have a couple more as there is plenty of space for them. I have a terrarium for them as well but would the snakes eat them if they are put on the plants?

ok we got our leop. gecko. he lives in my sons basement bedroom. i have set a light timer for 7am-7pm. we live in iowa and am wondering if he will get to cold at night the heat in our home is set at 68, his tank is built into the wall flush, the tank itself is in the laundry/furnace room. does it need the night light? in reading they say low 70s what if it's mid 60's? he is alert and eating crickets since we brought him home. mostly hanging out in hut since tank investigation.
