I can't really answer much of your question, but I just wanted to warn you- I have owned the same leopard gecko for almost 10 years now.. at the time I bought him, I also purchased another leopard gecko. Unfortunately the other gecko past away within the first year. A few months after his death I purchased another leopard gecko who was a baby. Even though this baby gecko was relatively large in size, probably between 3 or 4 inches the larger gecko ate him. So be careful!! It was a horrifying experience!!
That is surprising you have not found any more leopard geckos at any of those places. they are relatively common pets and can be found in most pet stores!!
I found this website helpful, it might help with your questions.

At Petsmart they label person leopard geckos as jumbos. i'm beautiful specific it somewhat is to lie to individuals. authentic jumbos have been enormously bred to be larger, they are going to be thicker and fairly over a foot long. subject-loose leopards max out around 10 inches.

Try the geckophile. I think it is www.geckosunlimited.com or just keyword geckophile.
