would this be a problem with the heating materials that i am considering using? heating lamp, ceramic heater (for night use). if not what would my best options be? considering that i'm gonna stick with the acrylic tank. also would this be enough to heat up the substrate that i plan to use? which would be sand. since the geckos i will be planning to get are from a desert region. need help don't want to make a complete disaster of things thanks.

Ok so I'm assuming that the female turtle I have is pregnant(skin mass on hind legs, irate activity, etc.) I went to petsmart and got moss and calcium sand and another tank to help it lay eggs in. The problem is I've had the female in there on her own for about an hour or two and she's been still for the most part, just looking at me. What exactly constitutes a proper nesting site, and what do I need? the tank is about 10 gallons.

I was keeping another hatchling in my tank with my turtle for about a month. I don't have that hatcling in there anymore and now he is acting all funny. He isn't really eating...he isn't acting as active as usual. I haven't seen him once get up on his rock to bask. I know that turtles are fine a lone..but he is really acting funny now that, that other turtle is not in there anymore with him. What should I do?

I have a Jackson's Chameleon, about 8 months old or so, very hearty, usually eats 3 crickets every other day, everything in the cage is the same, heat, humidity, water supply, everything, but he has not eaten in three days. what should i do, only answer if you truely have an idea other than take it to a vet. he isnt sluggish or anything, he seems normal. (not impacted, because paper towels are used as substrate and i watch him eat all of his meal.

I do think it's a bit my fault though. I've had this ball python for about 2 years now, and I use to handle him regularly, and before I would feed him, I would take him out of his tank then set the mouse in.This time though, I had not handled him for 7 weeks maybe more maybe less, ethier way, this time, when I tried to take him out of his tank, he went and bit me, so ended up just dropping the mouse in the tank with him, it's been a few days, and when ever I open the tank, he acts as though he's going to strike, why is he acting like this, and is there anything I can do to get him to be his usual normal self?

Do I necessarily need the special lighting, heating pad etc? Or can I just house him in a simple aquarium tank without all that? I live in central Fl, my house never gets real cold.

i have a south western collard lizard and recently he wasnt eating and i called the place where i got him from and they said that with the cooler temperatures lately i should get a hotter heat lamp because when lizards are cold their digestive system shuts down and they dont eat. i got i new lamp and a thermometer for his tank and now the temperature is around 80 to 88 on average. but now his eyes keep getting crusted shut and i read online that he could have a cold is this true? if not what is wrong and what should i do?

I'm getting a male and female of breeding age. I want to know if they should be allowed to stay together or if I should seperate them for a while then put them together to encourage breeding. I want to encourage humans to stop buying wild-caught tortoises in my area! I dont like it.

Also, would a chick incubater work to incubate the eggs if I took the turning racks out?

Thanks for the help in advance! And keep flames to yourself >.<
