Hi, my Red Eared Slider turtle that is about 3.5 years old has just recently had her first taste of six little feeder goldfish. This is the first time she has eaten them but has eaten other moving foods like mealworms, crickets ect. I fed her six one-inch feeder goldfish over a period of 4 or 5 days, today (as of Sunday, Jan 28) I have noticed a transparent layer of 'skin' that is hanging loosley around her neck. This dosen't seem to bother her. Could this be shedding (do turtles shed their skin?) or is this an allergic reaction? Please help!!!

Ps: I WILL go and ask a turtle specialist ASAP!!!

Thank you very much to all who answer!

I'd like to know if there are some kind of plants that are safe for my leopard gecko. And I'd like to know if I can put other types of lizards or animals in the tank as well. It's a 30 gal tank. Thanks

Next month, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, may be passing the following regulations....

Prospective exotic reptile purchasers and current owners (Burmese, Reticulated, African Rock, Amethystine pythons, Anaconda, and Nile monitor ) will be required to get a state permit and have their animals microchipped. Buyers would also have to fill out a questionnaire describing their knowledge of the species they are getting.

Owners would also get a visit from state officials to verify that the animals are being kept in the proper enclosure.

It's about time!!!

I saw a site on making an inubater for turtles using bricks, a ten gallon tank, a heater, and a rubber maid container (maybe some other items also.) anyone have the site or know how to make it.
