I saw a site on making an inubater for turtles using bricks, a ten gallon tank, a heater, and a rubber maid container (maybe some other items also.) anyone have the site or know how to make it.

There are a lot of plans for incubators like this. I think the one you are looking for us this:

Fill a 10 gallon tank part way with water- enough to submerge your heater (mounted sideways.) Put the bricks in to hold the smaller container(s) out of the water. Set the heater to the right temps for the species and put a cover over the tank.

In the smaller container, fill it 1/2 way with sphagnum moss or vermiculite- something that holds a lot of water without being too wet.Make indentations in the material to hold the eggs about 1/2 way in. (Be sure that you marked the top of each egg with a pencil mark so you can avoid turning them!)

Puncture the smaller container's lid with a lot of holes and monitor everything.




If you have a lot of eggs, a real incubator is a good investment. If you only have a few eggs, you can do this easier. You also need to be sure that you are making the right kind of incubator- very humid or very, very humid. The wrong kind will inhibit the baby's development.
