when I adopted him the people that found him said he had been on their front lawn, in the middle of summer, for 48 hours in the sun (very little shade). NO WATER. I have been watching him/her very carefully, but i started to notice about 2 weeks ago his shell was peeling? and now it has turned red? What is this? It is a red spot about the size of a quarter. And also, do i need to get a second turtle? At the pet stores they always have like 10 in one tank. Will he/she get lonely?

I only find lizards. But you would think there would be bunches of snakes. I live in tennesee right nest to percy priest lake. And i'm surrounded by woods. But i can't find any snakes.

I just got 4 new baby corn snakes. Last night i fed all of them strips of raw chicken. All of them didnt hesitate to eat it. My question is, will chicken be enough nutrients rather than a whole mouse? Im thinking mice is better because they have organs and bones and stuff. So, stick with chicken or go with mice?

My dog took a bite out of my box turtle, tearing off part of its shell. Unfortunately there are no available vets near me. I called everywhere and one vet did give me instructions on how to care for the wound. I forgot to ask about pain medicine. Is there anything I can give my turtle to help w/ her pain? Thanks.

I'm hoping to get a ball python within the next few months. I don't have much experience finding breeders and I was wondering th best way to go about finding one. I'm located in Northern NY and there is nothing up here, closest city is Syracuse, and that's about a 2.5 hour drive. I am not looking for any special morph, just a normal ball. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In a Chinese shop, selling traditional medecine, in China Town, Manila, Philippines, I saw a small white snake on display. The body is about the size of a finger, about 14 to 16 inches long. it is very white but clear, that you could see the intestines. The owner refused to answer inquiries, but I am very curious. I was told the specie is being supplied by a local traper, meaning, it is a Philippine snake. Anybody tell me what is this snake?

Please help me, I kinda raise box turtles and seems to have no luck lately with getting them to hatch outside :( I dig up the egss and they are empty with little pin holes in them where bugs and worms ate them I guess! Soooo I want to try and Incubate them in the house hoping to have better luck, but I don't know anything about Incubators!
What kind would I need for box turtle eggs? And where would I find one? Thanks...
