In a Chinese shop, selling traditional medecine, in China Town, Manila, Philippines, I saw a small white snake on display. The body is about the size of a finger, about 14 to 16 inches long. it is very white but clear, that you could see the intestines. The owner refused to answer inquiries, but I am very curious. I was told the specie is being supplied by a local traper, meaning, it is a Philippine snake. Anybody tell me what is this snake?

I don't know of any naturally occuring white snakes, but several species have leusistic (pure white, different than albinos) strains being bred, rat snakes, ball pythons, etc... Hard to say what species it was for sure... You can bet it wasn't "trapped" though.

I'd have to agree that it is not an albino, but probably a leusistic breed. I'm not sure what species, though.
