Okay...my girls recently recieved a pet turtle from their grandmother. I keep finding it asleep underneath the water and it's being kindof sluggish. Are they really supposed to sleep underwater? I'm constantly freaking out thinking it's dead. Also, it doesn't seem to eat a whole lot. Does anyone know about how much and how often turtles eat?

We have just gotten a type of land turtle (not by choice) and we want to do what is best for it. I know nothing about taking proper care of it so I would like suggestions as to what we can do with it so that it is well cared for. It has a hard shell that is about 5 1/2" long by about 6" wide. Are there organizations that take them? Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I have recently treated my 15 months old iguana to fresh figs and she really likes the fruit. And though I have quite a lot of books on iguanas I could not find in any of them the calcium/phosphorus ratio of fresh figs. Does anyone know? I feed my Iggy a very healthy diet of green leaves, vegetables and fruits and do not want unknowingly to introduce anything into it that might jeopardize it. Thank you.
