If they are anything like hunting wild boar (i have friends that do it) they are very timid, have good hearing and can smell you a mile away.

You have to make sure you are down wind (the wind is blowing against you) so they cant smell you, you have to be very patient and very quiet, i have seen people that sit in trees and wait for the deer to come to them.

If your gonna do it, dont let the animal suffer, kill it instantly, if your not a good shot, dont try, have heaps of practice first.

I dont agree with killing animals for no other reason then for fun, but if your gonna do it do it properly.

Some day if you ever serve your country and get into a combat zone... you will figure out that once you learn to hunt humans, hunting deer won't quite be the same!

My first suggestion is to be a good shot... one shot, one kill. It's better to go home empty handed than to have a wounded deer running around in the woods... so get to a range and learn to shoot offhand. If you can't shoot standing up, you shouldn't be hunting!

Second... read about them online. You should always study your prey regardless of their species. There is no quick study thing anyone can tell you other than... sit and wait for one to walk by.

And lets be serious... it's NOT hunting, it's ambushing!!!

Sure. The plural of deer is deer. 1 deer, 2 deer, a whole herd of deer, 10,000 deer.

And deer are not reptiles.

The cervids include deer and their allies, including familiar moose, elk, and caribou. Member of this family occupy a wide range of habitats, from arctic tundras to tropical forests, and native species of cervids can be found over most of the world except Africa south of the Sahara, Australia, and Antarctica. They have also been introduced to a number of areas that originally had no cervids. Currently, we recognize around 44 species of living cervids, placed in 17 genera, including a new genus and species ( Megamuntiacus vuquangensis) recently discovered in the Annamite Mountains of southeastern Asia. Deer are sometimes divided into four subfamilies. Some taxonomists include the genus Moschus (musk deer) within the Cervidae, but here we follow recent authorities and place it in its own family, the Moschidae.

Why yes, I can. First of all you have to be able to spell deer to get a hunting license. One deer is known as a single deer. Multiple deer(s) are also known as deer. You might shoot one deer, and you might shoot 2 deer.

Here's what you actually wanted to know though: It always helps to go to a topographical map that you can find online free of charge to know your area. I don't know if you plan to rifle or bow hunt. Always wash your clothes in scent free detergent before going out, and also shower in a scent free soap and shampoo. You can find them at Bass pro shop or most any other hunting supply shop. Practice on the range in the clothing you plan to wear hunting, especially if you will be bow hunting. Know what the deer need at different times of the year. In the early fall it will likely be food, possibly water. But deer patterns change as they approach the rut. Their trails will change, their movements at times of day will change, their needs will change. Entering rut, they don't eat as much.

Wear orange, attire , camnoflash, please use caustion not to kill Baby Bambi. Look good before you shoot , if not sure what is there ,don't pull the trigger. Be very still or sit in a Tree Stand. They will run off any noise. No hunting at night, make sure you have hunting license. There is also some deer scent you can bye to attract them with.. Good luck Pem

Here's some important info - deers don't deserve to be shot and killed just so you can get your jollies.

Idiot.

Have a nice day.

Yes - if you see two of them, you are looking at "deer", not "deers".

Happy hunting!

Get a wildlife code book from the state or a place that sells hunting weapons. READ THE BOOK. Buy a license. I sure hope you don't live in Missouri. Oh yeah, make sure you have on your hunter orange vest and don't shoot at anything wearing one.

Oh, please! Don't hunt animals! How can you like bloodsports? Why do you want to kill an innocent animal? Deer are so intelligent, social and cute animals.
