tortoises seem to be the most dog-like reptiles... A lot of them love being scratched on the neck. I've met some aldabra tortoises that will stretch their necks out as ar as they can to get scratched. They loved it!

I have a box turtle who loves to be scratched under her chin. She also enjoys sitting beside me on the floor and watching TV. No joke, she will only watch cartoons though. I guess it has something to do with the bright flashing lights, I don't know. But she is very social and when company comes over she will crawl up to them. What kind of tortoise do you have?

Oh boy, my red footer LOVES attention! She is a puppy in a shell. I also have a boxie that is a little more shy. But I often give them diluted Betadine, warm baths and scrub their shells with a toothbrush, to prevent shell infections. The red footer loves it!

So yes, go for it. Use a toothbrush.

We've got a sulcata and he loves to be scratched on the head, but he hates to be tickled on his shell. He'll dash or twitch his arms. It's kind of funny.

Well dont scratch there shell. you could damage it [depending on how hard tou rub] and they can actully feel it and it could hurt. because the shite spaces between there scults is extra senssitive.

my turtles always try to bite me when i touch them...

I doubt that they can feel anything with that tough shell.
