i have a california kingsnake and i built him a cage. its large enough for 2 snakes so i figure he can have a roommate. i know kingsnakes eat other snakes but i herd of kings and others living together. i cant find anything that tells what they are if any. and for safety i want to be sure before i commit. help. please.

well i gues the thing about kings and other snakes living in harmony was false. but as long as he'll be safe i'll be happy......i'll just get another cage

Absolutely NONE.

With the exception of breeding, king snakes will eat other snakes including of thier own kind and should always be housed alone. End of story.. Here is a link just incase you want to read more or dont believe me.

And for the record ALL snakes DO NOT eat eachother. But King's can and will

Kingsnakes are called kingsnakes because they kill and eat other snakes. Even venomous snakes. If you put another snake in with your California kingsnake eventually you will end up with a very fat California kingsnake.

You might try a rubber snake, but other than that, don't do it! Kings will eat small rodents, but their food of choice is other snakes. It's a losing proposition for the other snake.

maybe a full grown anaconda. id like to see a cal king eat one of those, lol.

no snake should live with another snake. they are very solitary animals, and another snake can cause them too much stress and die. plus, snakes eat eachother.
