I have a ten gallon tank that has been active with fish for a year with proper filtration ect. There are approximately 20-30 small to medium guppies in the tank as well as 1 male and 1 female Molly, as well as 1 Large Pleco (Sucker fish). My brother gave me a Red eared Slider and I am wondering if it is ok to place him/ her in my tank. I don't mind the turtle eating the guppies, just not all of them in a day or so, but I don't want him/ her to kill the mollies or the Pleco. Is this realistic or should I put the turtle in a seperate habitat?

After research on the net, I determined the turtle is indeed a malayan box turtle, (Cuora amboinensis). It is 5 inches in length and from what I read is still a bit young and seems to be a female. I understand that they are a bit rare now. Specially where i am, the Philippines. So, possibly it was imported from another more ecologically diverse and pristine area or region and may have escaped from its "owner". I, however, want to believe it is wild and that they still exist in the nearby forests and wetlands. Are they still in the Philippine forest? Will it survive with proper care in captivity? What is its primary food, what does it eat and need to survive? thanks.

Yes, I know reptiles show their affection in different ways, and I appreciate them very much as they are. But do any come closer to the general "pet" affection standard (dog/cat/etc)?

When I got him, I bought the Zoo Med:Hatchling Aquatic Turtle Food, and I've had him for about 2 weeks now. I'm really not sure if he REALLY has eaten anything, but I havent seen him once yet. And, wat stinks is, the food dissolves into the water in about an hour after I put it in the tank! ANY TURTLE EXPERTS OUT THERE??????? P.S.- I also would like to have a website dedicated to Yellow Bellied Turtles... Any1 who can give me both answers... I will vote them for my best answer!:)
