If your turtle's that boring, it's not the pet for you. A pet is something that you should love and care for. To spruce up your Turtle Time, you could invest some effort into making his home look more like a real natural habitat by getting some really nice, natural decorations from your local pet shop, feeding him things like goldfish or tadpoles to watch him go for them, or just start learning more about turtles in general and applying new concepts in your daily care. Talk to your little dude. Develop a relationship with your reptilian friend by learning about his species.

I used to have one too. I love turtles, but they don't make the most interesting pets. Have you ever put some goldfish in the tank. It's cool to watch the turtle go after them. I ended up giving mine to a friend cause she has a 100 gallon tank. She said he's alot more active with that much room. My tank was about 30 gallons, so he didn't get to swim long distances and just sat there most of the time. Get a bigger tank or some goldfish, and enjoy the only pet you can have.

Get a bigger tank, then put a lot of small feeder fish, like guppies, in it. The turtle will go crazy trying to catch them all. That's pretty entertaining. Also, and this is purely decorative, you can paint the turtles shell. As long as it's not lead based paint, you can make cool designs on it.

I have the same problem as you, my turtle is soooo boring, so what i do is when i have a problem that I cant tell anyone, i go and sit next to her and say the problem,
at other times, I would feed it and think its funny.

Good tank. Set up a nice, big tank (aim for around 20-40 gallons of water), possibly in a large plastic tub.

Heat it, filter it, and light it correctly (see http://www.redearslider.com ).

Now- add live plants, some snails, some live food (small fish, shrimp, etc.) Live food adds both fun AND slips in some other pets for you!

However... turtles are kind of like bad TV if they don't excite you in and of themselves.
