The story is of Jonah and the whale. According to some Biblical scholars, it wasn't really a whale that swallowed Jonah, but a great white shark. So unless someone has named their pet whale Jonah, there is no such thing as a "Jonah whale".

Actually the bible says a great fish. Which over time has been converted into a whale. Kind of odd because a whale is not a fish, it's a mammal. But to answer you question, no there is no such thing as a Jonah Whale.

Actually from the studies that I have done and the biblical scolars I have listened/talked to it was in fact a whale. Not a shark. A human could not live for 3 days in a shark. A pilot whale is the most likely mammal that could have swallowed him, as they don't eat large animals or fish. They are known to have air in their mouths from frequent trips to the surface to breath. They also regularly are in the Mediteranian. And as for the big fish part, the Ninivites are the people who called it a big fish, and according to their culture, if it lived in the sea it was a fish. At the time they did not know the difference between warm and cold blooded animals in the sea. If they could eat it it was a fish. This is just called a fish in most modern translations, not in the original Hebrew accounts. Hope this helps, and in answer to the direct question the Pilot whale has been called the Jonah whale in some biblical thoughts for the swallowing mentioned in the Bible.

Just a really good story. The "Johah" whale supposedly hunted down and targeted one man alone. And was willing to die as long as that man died with it.
What there have been in past centuries are "rogue" whales...ones that have escaped being harpooned or otherwise caught, and turn against fishermen who show up in the areas they are inhabiting at the time.
Now that whaling is done from those huge factory ships, there is no such thing as rogue whales either.
