is it normal for a turtle to make noises when it eats or drinks water? its a grinding noise. my other two dont make that noise. she looks very healthy and eats and drinks well other than that noise. i have been soaking her in h2o with a few drops of bird vitamins every couple of days. ive also kept her seperate from the other turtles in case she is sick.

I aquired a ball python from someone who just didn't want it and wasn't taking the best care of it. It's about 4-5 yrs old. She ate just fine for me for a few months but now suddenly the last 3 feedings she strikes, wraps then a minute later lets go and crawls away and won't eat.... I am taking her to a vet this week but wanted to know in the meantime if anyone has any idea's/suggestions. I have tried her normal small rat that she did eat for me previous and even smaller mice... nothing worked yet...
thanks!

Wish I could add photo...

Snake is about 16 inches long, with slender head & body, smooth scales, and round pupils. Coloring is alternating black and off-white bands, with a red-orange stripe along the back which is interrupted by the black bands. The tip of the nose is black. Thought of a coral snake when I saw it, but it doesn't look like the pictures I've seen, since the red isn't in the form of bands, but rather like a dashed stripe along the length of the back. If anyone would benefit from seeing a picture, please reply with email address and I'll forward one.

It's my 5 points and I will use them as I d amn well please. I am seeing this as an answer to alot of questions on the q and a site and I just want to clear something up. Zoo's do not take animals previously owned by private residents. They have thier own sources for getting the animals they keep and they stick with them. All animals they take in have to have a complete and thorough exam from the staff vet. The only donations the zoo really wants is a CASH donation. You want to get rid of a twenty foot burmese python or other monstrous reptiles, you will have to donate them to a rescue and preserve for misplaced reptiles. Talk to a qualified herp vet and they should be able to refer to somewhere that will take them. Or better yet use some common sense and research the animal before you buy it. Or just don't buy anything that can constitute a problem like that.

hi, ok so im at my cuz's house right now. we just got back from universal and he tells us he has a pet. i said what is it he said a lizard. i was like so lizards run across your feet when you walk down the street, he said not one like this. so my friend omar says bring it out he says he cant. we start cracking on him. he went inside and got the keys for his backyard gate. so he tells to look in the shed, we did and there was a f***ing komodo dragon in there. so we ran into his house. and he said hes keeping it i was like isnt it illegal??? so now we need a answer...........

They are NOT just for Turtles.

I have my dog pictured, many have cats, birds, reptiles etc. They have very knowledgeable people to tell you how to care for each type of animal. They also give advice for troubleshooting and information on equipment and have their own MySpace Page!

I could go on and on, but I want to hear what YOUR favorite Pet informaion Site/Message Board is?

I found ,what I now know is a painted turtle. I saved it from being ran over. Is it a safe and good pet for my kids to have? One site said that they may be endangered, how can I find out if this one is?
