Do you know of any side effects or ill effects that the MegaRay might have on an iguana? All iguanas are different and i understand that, so, have you heard of any negative effects a MegaRay bulb has on an iguana? examples are, bad behavior, loss of appetite, turning dark colors, paranoia, these are examples of some of the things that might be observed.

I have seen alot of questions regarding snakes and their health. Please keep in mind that snakes are delicate creatures and they should be handled and cared for in such a manner.
They need food, water, photoperiods, and care. They are not for being macho, or for experments. Do not get a snake until you have been throughly educated by a proffessional, and only get what is right for you. No Venomous snakes and nothing larger than you can safely handle. Think: do you want a 14 year old with a 6ft Eastern Diamondback as his first snake? Or a 22ft anaconda? Start small and as you learn, look at other snakes. Never take your snake into public. Most folks are scared of them and this can cause serious outcomes for you and your beloved pet.
A snake is a life. It is a living, breathing, thinking animal with a sense of pain, excitement, fear, reaction, and contentment.
Please treat them with respect and don't neglect its health or physical condition.
Use your head and common sense, folks.

If you have a reptile you can not care for anymore or you just do not want. Email me I will gladly give it a good home and proper care. There is alot of people that get these animals for pets not knowing what great responceibilitys come with them.I just want to try and help.So instead of killing the animal or releaseing into wild,(Releasing a captive reptile in wild can cause big probs for the reptiles)let me give it a good home.

I have a two year old garter snake that is refusing to eat. I had him on pinkies and he did well with them, would eat them with no problems. He will no longer eat them. I have tried feeder guppies and comets, he refuses them also. I am now trying nightcrawlers. He has not eaten in almost over two weeks. The temperature in his terrarium is between 75 and 80. The humidity is at about 50%. I know his refusal to eat is not due to his shedding of his skin, that occurred last month. I have tried looking on several websites about garter snakes, and also some forums. I have called several reptile and pet stores only to come up empty handed with very much needed input. My next step, of course, is to take him to the vet. Hopefully, it won't come to that. I appreciate any advice or suggestions that anyone may have.

My savanna monitor is not eating. I got him a week and a half ago. We have tried pinkies, super worms, egg, hot dog, turkey dog food, crickets. He as only eaten a couple bites of egg and a piece of hotdog. He is very skinny and we have been soaking him in water, putting him in his basking area and now feeding him Herpcare -electrolyte and appetite stimulant. He goes in the water and stays there most of the time or lays near it. The Herpcare (although only given once so far) does not seem to be working. His tank is 75 gal, he is 17 inches long. One side of his tank is at about 85 and the other is about 110. He has a hiding place in the middle of his hank and a heat light and rock on the hot side of his tank and water on the warm side. Is there any other options before taking him to the vet. Has anyone had this problem with theirs and if so what got them to eat. I have read online everything and nothings working.

I recently bought some little guppies to feed to my turtle. The problem is that the fish are dying, about one a day. Right now I have about 15 in a 5ish gallon bowl, although now I realize I should have bought 10 instead of twenty. I also feed them goldfish flakes every day. Anyway, should I get a filter, a bigger aquarium, or anything special? My turtle will eat the dead ones, but they die faster than I can feed them to him (I give him about two fish every other day, they're pretty small). Also, the point was to get him to hunt down his own food, giving him dead ones doesnt have the same effect. And just FYI, I only feed him a dead fish if it died that day, I wouldn't let it sit too long.

I recently acquired 2 eastern box turtles from a family who was neglecting them and was not giving them proper care or nutrition. They were severely underweight, with long beaks and nails, and were being fed dry cat food. They had a heat lamp, but no UV bulb. They also had no opportunity to burrow, and a very small water dish. I've since filed their beaks down, gotten them on a diet of soft turtle food, the occasional nightcrawler or recently deceased fish or pinkie mouse, fresh fruits and vegetables, and box turtle pellets, and have moved them into a bigger home with a dirt and reptibark mixture as a substrate. They also have a UV bulb now. What is the proper temperature to keep them at? Also, they like to fornicate a lot - how would i go about making the environment suitable for mating?

I heard that they were a species in danger of becoming extinct. I also read in a book about turtles that it was illegal to keep them in captivity. Is this true? Where? More info please?
