1. If you buy it online, you'll have to pay for shipping. get it at the local store, and it will be cheaper.

2. Turtles SHOULD NOT eat more than about 25% of their diet as pellets or flakes. Depending on what kind of turtle you have, you should be feeding it fresh stuff:
- Pond turtles like Red-ear slider would get live or frozen/thawed fish, worms, shrimps, crustaceans, snails, etc.
- Box turtles would get 50% low-fat proteins (bugs, worms, cooked chicken, etc.) 30% colorful veggies, 10% dark leafy greens, and 10% fruit
- Tortoises get about 50% 'forage' (hays, grasses, etc.), 35% veggies, 10% fruits, and less than 5% low fat proteins.

3. NO TURTLES OR TORTOISES should eat light green head lettuce (Iceberg) or hamburger.

4. Research food brands at http://www.austinsturtlepage.com before you buy any pellets.

simply do a web search. Type on "discount turtle food" and it will bring up many different places. That way you can shop for different foods and compare the prices.
