Why do pet snakes (and some undomesticated ones) tolerate being held, without biting? I know boa constrictors and ball pythons aren't poisonous to humans (at least I think I do . . . If this is wrong, please correct me - I'm interested in knowing), but I'm not refering to a deadly bite here, just "Hey, put me down!" I'd also be interested in knowing if venomous snakes have an "option" to inject venom or not when they bite? No real reason, just interested. Thanks.

We put our Red eared slider in a man made pond we built for him in our back yard, the water was sort of cold but he seemed to enjoy it. We knew that they would fall asleep in cold temperatures i the winter but we need to know how long they sleep during hibernation and how long they can hold there breath while doing so.

I have a couple of questions. I had a blue-tongue skink once and I'm thinking about getting another. Also, I've considered maybe getting a bearded dragon, instead. If I choose the latter and I have to feed him crickets, then will I require a separate habitat for crickets? At certain times of the year we have an abundance of crickets around here. Is it safe to feed it those? Also, has anyone ever owned or does now presently own a bearded dragon? Any info about them and how they are as pets would be welcome.

if the tank is little bit bigger than turtle is used to (turtle is sort of small) like how could you teach it to swim up to get air when its not used to it

He always finishes his bowl and i think i'm feeding him about 1/2 cup of vegetables (variety that was on russian tort website) every morning, seems very active and poops everyday or at least every other. I always think he is still hungry. Should I let him be?

im 13,how do i tell my aunt that i NEED A SNAKE, I love them i want to work with them when im older.
I ask her "Please can i get a snake" shed say "no" id say "y" and then shed say like because or some reason the snake would be in my bedroom she dont go in there now so how would she see it. All i want is a corn snake, Which are easy to breed!?!
