I have 2 red eared slider water turtles in my outdoor pond. It's getting cold outside and I don't know what to do with them. What sort of indoor habitat do I create to keep them healthy and happy?

He keeps jumping at the top of the cage sometimes hanging upside down. I am going to get a taller one for him in the future but I need a quick fix for now because I do not have the money for it. I have put in things for him to climb on but he ignores them. Also he shed about a week ago and now his skin has a kind of ashy look near his back legs and around his head. He is really worrying me I don't know if he is dry or if he is about to shed again but it seems to soon to be doing that. I try to keep the humidity dry, have a big pool of water for him and have a hot/cold area so I dont really know what i am doing wrong here

We have a California Kingsnake and it curls up in its water for a good portion of the day and night. It is a shallow water dish. Why does it do this, and should I get a different dish to try to get it to stop?

Also, when should I put my snake up for hibernation? Do they not eat at all during that time? How long should they hibernate? And anything else I should know about this snake and hibernation...

Thanks!

hi , my older tortoise (greek) has just hatched a little one. The older tortoises are outside inthe garden but i would like to keep this new one (about 2 inches big) inside in my room.

Ive read that i have to let it bask under a uv lamp for a couple of hours every day. the prob is i cant seem to find one and im also low on budget. is a few hours in the sun ok?

and what about food? she doesnt seem to be too keen on lettuce or tomatoes.

What abotu hibernation patterns? Right now its about 20C in my room and thats the lowest it will get. (mediterranean here)

Anything else i should be worrying about? she seems to be in good health.

This female snake belongs to my hubby. He promised me he will return it to the petshop before I come over from my holiday. I spent a couple of months away from my husband and he said this snake kept him company. I am just so concern if this pet leaves mark or any microorganism around our house.

I know feeding a turtle the same food is bad because it does not provide a variety. But I bought an older turtle (atleast 10 years old) about 3 years ago and she loves to bask, swim in her tank, and just stare at me(yeah, she's doing it right now) but she refuses to eat anything but commerical pellets. I've tried worms, veggies, crickets, duck weed and other things through the years but she won't try anything else. She does eat a lot of food though (about 1/2 cup of commercial pellets a day) and would probably eat more if i gave it to her. How can i get her to eat more of a variety or since she's been fine for 3 years, should it be a problem she only eats commerical food.

my slider (less than a year old) when i got him two months ago had a silver mark on his shell. now that mark is still there and i cannot tell if it is shell rot or something else. other marks on his shell looks like he is shedding and i cant tell. i keep the water clean, he has a basking lamp, and heater in the water. he also will not eat anything other than baby shrimp and bloodworms. i try offering him other things but he just refuses them daily. Please help.
