I have a tortoise and I feed her fresh vegetables and fruit and let her walk around the house. However, sometimes she doesn't come out and appear for a while (it seems like a month)...

I am trying to make some fake rocks or even a container that looks like rocks that i can put water in. Does anybody have any suggestions how what material I can use to make these rocks? It also has to be non-toxic, ie. won't harm my pets.

I was wondering if a california kingsnake could eat killed rodents because I've heard from loads of people that you should feed your snake killed food so it does'nt hurt him or snap at him. So if that is possible I'd like to feed one killed rodents.

I've had my turtle (female Hermann tortoise) for about 2.5 years. She's probably around 3 years old now. Around last March, she started going crazy trying to hump everything in my room instead of walking around and exploring like she used to.

Is this normal behavior for turtles? I can't find anything online and my vet has just said that she doesn't know much about this breed of tortoise and that she's too young to be sexually mature. :/ She's otherwise eating normally.

What is going on here, this is a really weird occurence. My ball python snake killed this white mouse I threw in there and she won't eat it.

She just deconstricts her self and tries to find away to escape from her cage!

Am I the only person this has happened to? What should I do?

i noticed 2days ago that my female cornsnake had milky blue eyes so she has obviously began to shed her skin. she wont eat (but i think thats normal) and she hasnt come out of her hiding pot for about 3 days.
how long will it take her to actually shed all her skin and if she doesnt come out of her hiding pot should i lift it up to check if she has shed her skin soon ? becuase i dont want to upset her by lifting the pot from her too early because when i last went to lift the pot to handle her she seemed pretty grumpy (obvously due to her shedding).

also when she has shed her skin (this may sound stupid) should i take it out straightaway (the skin) or leave it in there?

I have him in a 45 gallon rubbermaid tub with mesh on top a 150w lamp and a 100w bulb, a hide, water, i use repti-bark for substrate. list of foods: nightcrawlers, crickets, superworms, frozen mice, and a piece of chicken everyonce in a while. Am I doing everything correct. He doesn't seem vorocious when he eats (he's a very very tame lizard) he just shakes his head not violently, very lightly is this normal. And when i pet him he flattens his belly out and bows his head down and closes his eyes is he sick (he usually is very active except when i hold him). He is a foot long lizard. I fed him two nightcrawlers (very fat) and hes full is this normal? Am i doing everything right? please tell me critism is excepted and also if you don't mind what are signs that he'll strike at me. He is also a very dark color (darker) then most sav's is this ok?

I have 2 turtles about 2 inches wide and a 30 gallon tank. I used to have 1 turtle about the same size and never had any trouble keeping the tank clean. Now I'll clean the tank and 2 days later it looks like I haven't touched it in months. I understand that there is more waste with two turtles but I never thought it would be like this... I have a really nice filter, a light, a basking dock and turtle rocks on the bottom but all of a sudden there is bright green stuff all over everything and the water gets so murky you can't even see through it!! Does anyone know of and products or animals that I could put in there to slow down this process?? I love turtles but this is getting insaine taking the entire tank apart and cleaning everything every other day... Thanks!

Do I need to have an UNDERGRAVEL water filter for my 2 baby red-eared sliders?

The water filter I have doesn't go under the gravel. I don't know if this means that the turtles' poop would most likely end up plugging the water filter if it's not under the gravel. I don't know if that would even happen. I'm totally new to this.

I have a young male bearded dragon. He is 12'' [1 foot] long.

He since i've had him, i never fed him pinhead crickets. I feed him the 5week old crickets. They are not full adults, no full wings or anything.

But i was wondering if im over feeding him. I feed him abt 15-20 crickets about 2hrs after i turn his light on.

Then i give him a salad somtime in the evening. But no food 2hrs prior to lights out. [non-iceburg lettuce]

Does his diet seem okay?

Also, is there anything specific food, or supplement that i can give him to make his poo more "firm" ? Most times its a little liquidy, but then hardens.

I do dust his crickets, and i have have that vitamin supplement that goes in his water. Butis there anything else i can do to make his poo a little less...rancid?

****ANY other [necessary] info that you feel you'd like to share is great too. Thanks ****

She's currently in a really big one, but she's not that active, and her tank takes up so much space, so i was thinking about downsizing. Is it big enough for her, and also, would she get depressed if i switched her into a smaller tank??

he's a little russian tortoise and lives in an underbed storage box (not under an actual bed:). it's almost transparent so i stuck photos of plants etc from magazines on the outside with sellotape but he seems to think he can get through. does anyone have experience with that? would some tape instead of the pictures be better - it would be stuck form the outside, but i suppose without the gap which is always there between the photos and the box. i hate to see him trying to get out like that :(

I got a savannah moniter and i think hes going good but i was wandering if i need 2 make changes. this is waht i have: one heat pad on 1 side of the tank and a heat lamp on the same side then i have a UVB heat lamp on the same side as the heat mat and he has 2 large hide boxes on each side of the tank. then he has a larg water bowl and plant in the middle and eco earth soil for substrate. i turn the light off at night but not the heat pad and i feed him about 6 - 7 crickets in the morning and at night. i change his water daily.and spray the cage with healthy habitat daily.
any thing i should change?

My boyfriend's dad said that I'm as loud as a herd of turtles and my boyfriend also said that they're loud. It may be a bit naive...but I was just wondering if there was any truth behind this. Thanks!

Today I cam home and noticed my lepoard gecko which i've had for about 2-3 years had a puffy eyelid. The other is fine but he will barely open his left one. He also doesn't seem to be bothered by it and he just goes on with his daily routine of sleeping and laying around. Any suggestions?
