I was wondering if a california kingsnake could eat killed rodents because I've heard from loads of people that you should feed your snake killed food so it does'nt hurt him or snap at him. So if that is possible I'd like to feed one killed rodents.

You can buy what is called arctic mice. They are frozen and come in different sizes. You just thaw them before feeding. Also, I would suggest always taking him out of his tank and placing him somewhere else before feeding him. That way he won't ever accidentally mistake your hand for food when you go to pick him up!

EDIT: King snakes growing up in the wild, having to fend for themselves against harsh conditions and threat of starvation are quite different from ones who have been handled by people and fed for most of their lives. Don't worry about it. Frozen food is just as good as the real thing. (Maybe a bit more chewy...lol)

Vets and experts in the field will tell you to feed frozen/thawed. No chance of the snake being severely injured and frozen have much less parasites that can be passed on to the snake. All mine eat frozen/thawed just fine--I order them on-line.

Yes, that is correct. Most people purchase frozen rodents, and then thaw them at feeding time.

Wild rodents often have parasites. Find a good herper that raises his own mice. They will eat thawed killed, but live is better.

well, listen to all the experts. do king snakes find "frozen" mice out in the fields or mountains. i've seen king snakes 6 and 8 feet long, and they eat mice and rattle snakes. when that mouse sees that snake, he is nearly frightened to death, and probably doesn't know what comes next. feed him live mice.
