I have a young male bearded dragon. He is 12'' [1 foot] long.

He since i've had him, i never fed him pinhead crickets. I feed him the 5week old crickets. They are not full adults, no full wings or anything.

But i was wondering if im over feeding him. I feed him abt 15-20 crickets about 2hrs after i turn his light on.

Then i give him a salad somtime in the evening. But no food 2hrs prior to lights out. [non-iceburg lettuce]

Does his diet seem okay?

Also, is there anything specific food, or supplement that i can give him to make his poo more "firm" ? Most times its a little liquidy, but then hardens.

I do dust his crickets, and i have have that vitamin supplement that goes in his water. Butis there anything else i can do to make his poo a little less...rancid?

****ANY other [necessary] info that you feel you'd like to share is great too. Thanks ****

Less protien more veggies and some fruit. Bearidies can quickly become obese due to their lazyness and with obesity in reptiles comes kidney failure and other illness. Feed him less if you want him to live a long and healthy life. Good luck to the both of you!

As for the liquid poops, he may have a worm or other parasite, take a poop to the vet for a fecal and if he has worms he can be de-wormed and his poops should harden up. Pumpkin is also a good de wormer, give him soem canned pure pumpkin, with no added ingredients for a couple days straight and see what happens. Good luck!

you do no longer say how vast they're so i'm guessing they're hatchlings.vital to maintain the bearded dragons heat adequate, first of all. the floor would desire to look as a gentle tan, if it seems darkish, then the dragon is only too chilly and could no longer digest the food or circulate around. extra suitable to feed bugs that are too small than too super. maximum of a hatchlings weight loss application would desire to be darkish, leafy green greens like: Romaine lettuce and such for the diet A. Shred small quantities of carrot, dandelion green and flower, small quantities, almost all squashes. in case you have Madagascar Hissing Roaches as pets, you are able to advance them to feed the extra youthful to the dragons. in any different case, a million/4" better half and teenagers crickets and a few wax worms each week. advance the dimensions of crickets with the aid of fact the dragons get extra suitable. Wax worms are extreme in Phosphorous. Meal worms are not the terrific dietary selection, even although Leopard Geckos thrive on them. Pinky Mice, customary Mealworms and Superworms would desire to be prevented till the Dragons are rather super. do no longer feed in extra.outdoors, wild bugs are remarkable snacks as long as you're taking those precautions first:aspects should not be sprayed with pesticides, seize basically Moths and mushy bodied bugs without stingers or beaks and lightning bugs are poisonous. Dragons are friendly except rather mishandled.

The crickets should be about the size of the space between his eyes when you are looking down from the top. A young dragon will typically eat 50-100 appropriate sized crickets a day! As they mature, this appetite will slow down considerably. Give him as many as he will eat at one time. Also try small superworms (NOT mealworms or giant mealworms), silkworms, phoenix worms, wax worms, for variety.
Have you had his stool checked by an experienced reptile vet yet? These guys are typically loaded with parasites and need the necessary treatments.

A dragon? Where did you get a dragon? Tell me by emailing me by playgirl_52697@yahoo.com.
And....I'll tell you my opinion. I think you feed him JUST right. Its little bit a lot, but it's okay. Don't change his diet. Change it slowly, bit by bit.
