Yesterday I got a turtle. I was told that it was a north american box turtle. I got it from my mom's friend who had bought the turtle for her son's birthday awhile ago. My mom's friend got it from a pet store. At first when she got the turtle it ate just fine now it has stopped eating. She wanted me to take it to see if I could get it to eat, but I don't know too much about turtles. Is there any reason why this turtle is not eating?

I am getting a corn snake. I am planning on getting him a 20 gallon long tank to live in his whole life. Do i need an undertank heater as well as lights? I would prefer to see my snake so could i get a basking bulb and fixture on one side and a black, red, or blue, "night" light for the other side and he would be okay?

I have unsuccessfully tried to breed mice for food for my snake- Everytime, the male eats the babies or the mother dies during birth, so I give up.

Anyone know of a place to buy frozen mice with CHEAP shipping? Everywhere I look, it is over $30 for shipping costs alone. With the amount I want for 1 snake, (50-100 adult mice, 50 chicks or so) it the same price as buying individually from a store, which is not the point of online shopping, lol.

Know of any site (I know the main ones, so it would have to be a less advertised one) that has the cheaper shipping or rates for winter shipping (so it is colder).
thanks in advance!

Hey guys,Im new here & just wondering if you could help me please......

The other day my Aussie wd was jumping of his vine & caught his arm on it while jumping. He couldnt walk & kept limping on it,he couldnt even get into his water to go to the toilet. I took him to the vet yesterday & he stayed over night & had an xray done on him. I picked him up today & saw on the xray that his bones are really small & weak for his age (He's 10 months old) I have to bring him back in 3 weeks for another xray to see if his bones improve.

I am just wondering what is the best way to get calcium into him? I just lost a chinise wd 3weeks ago to mbd, they were both using the same type of calcium, I have changed the calcium that I dust his food with incase it was that,Im getting a new uv light tomorow the one he has now is 5months old so he's due a new one. Any suggestions on getting more calcuim to strenthen his bones?

I am getting a corn snake (maybe 2 depending on answers) from the same place (petsmart) [there arent any local shops near] and was wondering if i could keep them together since they have been living together for awhile. Would i need a bigger tank? I would expect to have to feed them in separate places but other than that, could they live together?

I am getting probobly either a orangish or a brownish corn snake. I want to know what all he will need, espically lighting. I have a 20L (long) gallon tank setup. I have aspen bedding, two medium half logs, and a medium water dish. Do corns like to climb on branches and plants (fake)? What kind of lighting does he need? Does he need UVA/UVB? I plan to get an undertank heater as well as a basking bulb and fixture. Does the heating mat go underneath the basking side or on the cooler side?

P.S. Any names for my corn would be appreciated.... (I'm thinking about Quincy.)

-What kind of pet do tortoises (russian, leopard) make
-Do they have a good personality
-Do they spend most of their time hiding, and do they usually stay out of their shells when your holding them, or are they usually afraid of people
-Would you reccomend them as a first reptile
-are they expensive to care for (not including innitial cost of the actual tortoise)

Which do you think makes the best pet, either a russian or leopard?

I am thinking about getting a tortoise. It will be my first reptile, so I don't want anything to difficult to care for. I would really like for it to be really active, and have personality, and not be afriad to be out of its shell while im holding it.

Is there any turtle that is like this, not to big, nothing like a sulcata tortoise, or anything big....just a simple little tortoise

What breed would you reccomend?

The ball python is a male, 4 years old, approx. 4 feet long.
Good temperment when handled even around large groups, a little timid, wasn't handled too much in its earlier years prior to being owned by myself.

The albino burmese python is a male, 3.5 months old, 2.5 feet long.
Very friendly, has only nipped me twice. Never shown aggressive behaviour since the event.
