It's a baby, really small, it's black with an orange belly and a light white/yellow ring around it's neck.

if you could post a pic it would be alot easier . sounds like some kind of ring neck snake . but Like i say please post pic and then maybe someone would know for sure. good luck .

most likely a California king snake those are kinda poises so wach out!

MOST LIKELY - California King,

I do not know where you live, but a coral snake looks similar and will kill you if you are bitten
