bury himself underneath the bedding I have in the tank? Is he okay or could something be wrong with him?

He is 9 months old and VERY lovable. I am new to the reptile thing and I didn't know if I should take him to the vet or not. Not sure of some of their habits that they may have.

This is a normal thing for bearded dragons to do. Don't worry and he shouldn't need a vet unless you are noticeing other behavorial/physical or eating problems.

It's a little early in the year but this could also be him attempting to settle in to brumation. Many will bury themselves in their substrate for this time, rarely comeing out for the next 2-3 months. This also is normal and you should let him do it, as long as he is healthy and has a clear gut.

LOL bearded dragons are outback animals and to escape from the desert heat they burrow under the sand making there own shade also female beardies dig to lay there eggs to keep them safe. This behavior is embedded into there brains and is totally normal

They enjoy digging and they like to be under something to sleep. It's usually not recommended to have sand or any other loose substrate in a beardies cage, as they can eat it and become impacted. Just an FYI.
