is this even a real question?

NO.

"why not?" because 18 boas EAT little boys, or at least exfixiate them. if they are to even ever come in contact make sure he's old enough to respect the power and will of the animal, and preferably through a large pane of glass.
it's not like a puppy, you pull it's tail it will bite you.

If there were some kind of barrier, it would be fine. Kids have all kinds of animals as "friends", however an adult would have to be responsible for the care and feeding of the python. Unless it's an imaginary python, in which case the little boy could handle the entire thing.

I see that we both watch the same programs.

As for weather it is healthy or not is not part of the question, but what i thought when watching the program was that the little boy would make quite a nice snack for the python.

yeah as long as the python doesn't turn on him those guys have big mouths and can have a hell of a bite i dont think it could eat him or anything just severely wound the child. get it something smaller if its your child like a leopard gecko or a corn snake or if it really wants a python get it a ball python they stay smaller.

NO! A python that size has the potential to eat something as large as a full grown goose 22-24lbs, and could most definitely kill him. It could kill a large adult no problem, let alone a little boy, and no, it does not recognize him as a friend. I believe that you should not own large pythons until you are at least 16 yrs old. I own many large pythons myself some of them for as long as 15 yrs and they still have the potential to be dangerous, it only takes one mistake and your that Idiot that ends up on the news going, " I cant believe my snake killed my boy" "It never even hissed at us, not one time". Yeah, Right. Idiot! Pull your head out of your butt before your kid gets hurt. Its o.k. for them to like reptiles, but get them one their size, not a 3 person snake.

Since a "best friend" is another human who will interact on a personal level, it is impossible for a python to serve in this role. It is certainly not healthy for a little boy to reject all human interaction for that of any animal.

No, it is extremely dangerous.
Every so often, an ADULT snake keeper is strangled by their large python. An 18' snake shouldn't be handled by less than two adults, ever.

Yes. Many children have dogs or gerbils etc as best friends. Me for example, I learned almost all my social interaction habits from a dog. And now that I am grown up, my woman continually points this out.

So watch out! When your little boy grows up he may eat you!
