You can feed it a prey item as big around as its neck and twice as long as his head. Instead of hopper mice why not pinkie rats their better for him, no fur. Or it will eat super worms, waxworms, mealworms, sometimes they will eat sweet fruits like grapes, pears, peaches, cherry's, some melons like honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, you can buy like fresh fruit mixes at the grocery store, with a mixture of these for just a few dollars. If you buy fruit cocktail be sure to drain the syrup off, they don't like stuff on their face. Ground turkey, with beef heart mixed in.( you have to mix it yourself). Do not feed it sandwich meat, it useally has preservitives in it to keep it fresh. It probably would eat roaches, large ants and stuff like that, but remember, it is not native to this region so some bugs may actually hurt him, so i would stick to store bought or do some more research on the bugs it eats in the wild. Hope this helps a little....

Here is a nice feeding schedule. The sandwich meat should only be fed very sparingly, maybe once a month. Best is crickets, kingworms, and mice as age and size require. Wild insects can be exposed to pesticides, fertilizers and they themselves can carry parasites, so it is not a good idea to use them as food. Order crickets and frozen mice on line from one of dozens of suppliers and save a lot of money that way.
