Send him round to my house and we will show him exactly how to do it by giving him a live demonstration on his own penis! The poor boa is probably only 'real mean' because it is not being cared for in a proper manner. Imagine if you were shoved into a dirty box, only fed once every three or four weeks and had to drink fetid water, you'd be pretty mean to whomever it was that came to have a gawp at you wouldn't you?
Tell him to give the poor reptile a chance of a better life by taking it to an animal sanctuary where it can be cared for properly thus sorting out it's 'mean streak'.

You need a sharp pair of small scissors .You lie the snake on it's back and start cutting in the middle on down. The skin should come off easily with the only cut done from the head down in the middle of the stomach. No need to go into flesh just the skin.. Then you get a 2 X 4 or a 2 X 6 depending on the size of the snake and stretch the skin and nail it down with small fine nails. You can then place regular table salt on it and place skin in the sun and keep it dry.. It will take some time but soon you will have a nice skin. Done this many a times back in Texas rattle snake country. The skin scales should be face down and the part that was on the meat is where the salt is placed.Good Luck you only get one chance think about a Taxidermist it should not cost much for this..

I can't believe I am reading this! Tatbabe is right, improper care and handling are most likely to blame for the boa's misbehavior. This is yet another example that there are reptiles out there living miserable lives, for no fault of their own, just because ignorant people are able to walk into a reptile store with their wallet wide open and purchase an animal on a whim, without any clue whatsoever as far as their care is concerned, and who don't even CARE about them as creatures. This is one of God's creatures that deserves to be treated with respect and love. It's well known if you get bit by a snake it's nobody's fault but your own. Don't treat an animal in a way you wouldn't want to be treated, and this goes for reptiles too.
Your friend (or is it really you?) took on a huge responsibility when he bought that snake, and the very least he could do is try to get it adopted. There are sanctuaries for unwanted reptiles out there, including abused ones, and they do a wonderful job at rehabilitating animals.
As far as that grandfather goes, he can take his pipe and stick it somewhere... Any boa, even vicious, is worth that old guy's weight in gold.
Here is the site of a reptile sanctuary that might be able to refer you to one in your area: http://www.ksreptiles.com/default.asp

You cut it open and gut it like a fish(anus to throat). The skin should peel back once you get a good piece to get a hold of. Clean the skin well nsideand out soak in water and canning salt or ice cream salt about a lb per gallon for 4-7 days. The nail flat to a board until dry. When dry work it slowly to return pliability. Then you are good to go to make whatever you want out of it.

He will make more money on the snake by selling it. If he sells his snake with the set up he could make over $200.
