Reptiles - September 2006

I want to know of a good reptile or amphibian to breed, that is easy to get them to mate. I have never bred any animal before, but want to try one that is easy and does not require hours of work every day. It would also be nice if it was fairly cheap, as in under $50 or so total (I sdo have cages and stuff from previous pets).

I want to work at a pet store when im 16 or 17, cuz i love animals, so i want to start off there. I am only 14 now though. Do i have to be like qualified to work at a pet store? the people who work there are mostly teenageers(or like 20 or 21). I know a lot about reptiles, and i have a bearded dragon, and a dog, and i know a lot about fish. My local pet store mostly sells reptiles, fish, birds, and like one or two dogs or cat. would they have to like train me? would i be able to work there? or would i have to be an expert?

snake_girl85, do you work at a petstore? i understand you have a lot of reptiles and know a lot about them. if anyone else works at a pet store, please answer this question: if you work at a pet store, do you get a discount on the animals and tanks?

I have and eastern painted slider that lives in my koi pond. I found it over the summer crossing the road. The weather is getting colder and starting to drop down to the low 50s to high 40s at night when should i consider taking it inside. i was going to bring it in the other night but did make it home. but ill probably go home and sett the tank up and bring it in tonight.. Any idea what i water turtle does for hibernation???

i have a variety of turtles(10 total). they range from red eared sliders to painted box turtles, a soft shell turtle, river musks and an african box turtle. my question is do any of those turtles change there sex once they mate with another turtle? ive noticed that since one of the three red eared sliders mated with another turtle the other two which are males try to mate with that one inparticular. is it just the red eared sliders or do all turtles change sex after they mate?
