I've been obsessed with animals and Australia for as long as I can remember. I think I decided I wanted to work with animals when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade... The Crocodile Hunter first aired when I was 10 or 11, and I NEVER missed an episode, even if I'd seen it 10 times. I think it was that show more than anything that got me into hardcore conservation, and also strengthened my love of reptiles (always been my favorites). I've been a diehard fan from the very beginning, and he really helped fuel my passion for wildlife. I'm almost 21 now, and honestly wonder what my life would have been like if it weren't for Steve (and Jeff Corwin, Mark Oshea, and others, but Steve was the first). I've always planned to devote my life to wildlife conservation and zoology (currently at school for that very reason)... He came along at just the right time, in the most influential part of my life, and it may sound cheesy but he was the greatest role model I've ever had and is a big part of who I am today.

Yes, very much so. Through his show and passion, it's just an inspiration to me to conserve the many beauties we have on this world, and who knows for how much longer. He was a fantastic man full of energy, passion and happiness. He's raised his kids well, he truely loved his wife, and every living thing.

I strive to be like that.

No. he was funny to watch but he had it coming. being a parent he should've stopped fooling around with dangerous animals and acted like a responsible father. Now his poor kids have no dad. he was passionate about what he did though.
He has just proved that you can't play with fire and not get burned.

I learned to like snakes! I mean I still don't want to meet one, but now I understand why they need a home too. Before I saw him, I could've cared less!

He used to make me laugh. I used to watch him and wait for one of his famous expressions. "CRIKEY!"
