how do u know if a baby turtle is a boy or girl?? can u tell when they are babys?

In general for sliders and most aquatic turtles longer claws on males.
Land turtles (box turtles and tortoises) for the most part females have a flat plastron (bottom shell) and males have concave.

Beyond this we get into things like tail length (males need longer tails to house their equipment) and things like this.

Yes, multiple turtles, will stack up, but it has -nothing- to do with gender, it has to do with being closer to the heat lamp.

It can be dificult to tell with young turtles but as a general rule, the plastron (bottom of shell) will be flat on femals and concave on males. As they get older other featurs will become apperent, males generally have longer claws, and back shoots will get more pointed, but that varies for different species

Put a few turtles together, see which one gets on top. Thats the boy.
