Since my kids found out our bearded dragon was a girl(2years old) they have wanted to breed her. She hasn't laid any eggs yet. We have a boyfriend lined up for her.
I want to make sure everything is ready and perfect for her when she starts laying eggs.
Any advise or instructions?

My wife is allergic to everything and anything, but we both love animals. We opted for a Bearded Dragon because reptiles are hypo-allergenic. Unfortunately something is causing her to break out into an itchy rash around her neck and eyes. However, no rashes developed on her hands or arm where the lizard's been. We're trying to narrow it down hoping that it's not the lizard itself she's allergic to. Could it be the substrate (we use children's play sand), the crickets, cricket droppings or carcasses, or the vitamin powder we use to coat the crickets? Any insight would be appreciated.

How many water dragon owners are there on here? A lot of the dragon questions seem to be about beardies but i have a water dragon and would like to know who else is.

My red eared slider, everytime I see him, is laying under his little island. And when I move the island he freaks out and goes to the next place to hide. When I first got him he used to swim a lot, now I never even see him. The other day I took him out of his cage to let him roam cause he really loves to roam around the living room (dont worry, I watch him cause he's still tiny) but he didnt even come out of his shell. So after a few mins just put him back in his little home. He's been like that for about 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden today I took him out and at first he didnt come out of his shell, then he came out and was runnin all over the place! It was crazy. When I put him back I fed him and for the first time I saw him eat, and he ate A LOT! is this common??

Also the back of his shell is a little soft, what do I do about that???

I have a 6 foot iguana and am trying to build it a cage. I am locating this cage at a door to go outside of my home that we never use. I have read they say to use green mesh for the sides or plexi-glass(with is very costly). Green mesh wont protect him from the wind or the cold. I already bought some plywood 2" X 4"'s to build the main structure with but am wondering if I could use plywood for the sides. How would they get fresh air? What is not costly at all that I could use for the sides and top that wont bring the wind and cold into this cage or is there a way that I can use something that brings in the sun but not the wind and the cold? Please help me as I have the main sides built with 2" X 4"'s but am confused on what to use for the sides of the cage.

I need a bigger tank for my Geckos. Tanks with screen sides seem to be much cheaper. Does any one know if it will cause any major problems having a screen tank intead of a glass one?

Some reptiles/lizards do this, not all things blink. Wouldn't that be wild if we had to lick our eyeballs?
