I have a Red-Footed Tortoise, Fluffy. I was wondering if Red-foots did well with other Red-foots or if they prefer solitude? Should I get him a friend?

The main issue to think about here isn't whether your tortoise needs a friend, but what you are going to do with one or more of them when you are old. This WILL be an issue if you are taking care of it, and it's hard enough to find people you can trust with your pets without having to worry about two animals that will need passed down. Or more if you happen to get a friend for your tortoise that is of the opposite sex. I have multiple box turtles, and trust me, the only time they seek out each other's company is when it's that time of year. I don't think companionship is something they need.

If it's a boy, name it something that has four syllables, since Mr. Tumble has four syllables. If it's a girl, name is Misses something!

Most likely they will get along fine.

Go for it every one needs a friend.
