My wife is allergic to everything and anything, but we both love animals. We opted for a Bearded Dragon because reptiles are hypo-allergenic. Unfortunately something is causing her to break out into an itchy rash around her neck and eyes. However, no rashes developed on her hands or arm where the lizard's been. We're trying to narrow it down hoping that it's not the lizard itself she's allergic to. Could it be the substrate (we use children's play sand), the crickets, cricket droppings or carcasses, or the vitamin powder we use to coat the crickets? Any insight would be appreciated.

there is a possibility that she is alergic to the crickets. crickets are full of bacteria and i know alot of people that can't touch them because of it. The bearded dradon could only give her a reaction if he scratched her and it dosent sound right if it's around her eyes.lol. but I would take her to the doc's to find out if it could be crickets.
