i have a habitat for my hermit crabs, but don't know if moss is safe to use for them. so

yes it is just remember to keep plenty of wet sponges in their tank

I used to have hermies and that i used moss it is offered for reptiles. I moist it and wrung it out and further to a side of the tank and that they enjoyed it. such as you mentioned, ensure they're waiting to molt in something.

i think it is. My friend uses moss and they are still fine.

it's a good bedding material but if they ate it it could harm them.
