There are two different types of venom for snakes, hemotoxin affects red blood cells, and neurotoxin which affects nerve cells. Hemotoxin for some reason is less effective on reptiles than neurotoxin. I suppose it's possible for enough hemotoxin to kill a snake, but I know it's possible for neurotoxin to kill snakes.

A snake is not vulnerable to it's own type of venom so it would depend on how bad the bite was, it could die from the bite alone and not from the venom and whether both snakes were the same kind IE same type of venom. If they were the same then it only depends on whether the wound from the bite were bad enough to cause death and if different species then the snake would become victom to the venom, there is a chance that it would live through it but the venom would effect it if that's what you meant.

I would guess that some venomous snakes have a natural resistance to other venomous snakes' venom. So I would say sometimes.
