ive thrown crickets in for him and he doesnt go after them like he usually does, the monitor is a year old and last night i took a hopper/mouse and put it in there with him, as soon as he grabbed it to kill it the mouse turned around and bit him.
now he is avoiding the food that i give him, including crickets.
i killed the mouse at first and put it next to him but he turns his head away.
does anybody know what i should do?
:(
besides taking him to a vet.

I might come off as a jerk, but you know what? I don't care, it drives me crazy and I give what information I can where it's needed, but..........

Why do people buy pets that they have ABSOLUTELY NO FREAKING IDEA ON HOW TO KEEP? Honestly, people, would it have been THAT much trouble to get a dang book and LEARN a little bit about the animal you're about to buy and perhaps give a death sentence to because you have NO IDEA HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT?

What happened to common sense in reptile keeping?

ds(6yr) going through phase, wanted crickets for pet. I gave in... now I need to know what they eat. (please)
Do they need water?

We started with celery.. seems to be working.
(( Note: I do not want to spend money on cricket food.))

Son would like to know " do crickets like to play in water. "

I could not locate any info. on-line, other than crickets are feeders.

Thanks for your support. We are laughing about this one too.

I've been thinking about getting a snake. I was going to get a Red tailed Boa. But am getting a puppy instead. I still want a snake. Something less expenisve and large.

Size isnt a big deal. Big is good.
Price is kind of a factor.
Feeding mice is no problem, i can handle it.

What do you think? Corn snake or Ball Python?

I own a 12 ft albino python. Im not sure if its male or female. It has never bitten anyone, and he is very friendly and curious. He currently is eating large rabbits, every other week.

I posted a few questions a week ago asking questions about my husband's snake that he felt the need to leave me in charge of its care while he's gone. I am deathly afraid of it. I have feed it once by chasing it around the cage with tongs into its "feeder box" but I have not changed the water. And APPARENTLY it likes to take its crap in water. This is the same large dish used for its drinking water. At times it just curls up in there and stays there hours at a time. Do I HAVE to change this water? my husband will be home on the 3rd could it just stay in there for now even though its takin a dump in it or do I have to somehow find courage reach in there and remove the dish in order to give in fresh water. I guess what I am asking is does it actually drink the water and will drinking it while it has poo in it make him sick {as if I'd care if it died} I mean out in the wild they drink water with poo in it all the time right? Its a very large Albino Pueblan Milksnake

I have four turtles. I'm so worried of one of them. I gave it food, but the rest of the turtles ate it all and the one doesn't want to eat. It just sleep and sleep and sleep and wakes up ever thirty minutes for five minutes then it sleeps again. So, I seperated it from the other turtles. I gave it food, but still, it doesn't want to eat. I just slept and slept. Usually, when I carry a turtle in my had, it will try to escape, but this one just looked at me and sleeps again. Most of my turtles stick out their necks but this one nearly keeps his/her head inside and goes out only when it's awake, but it doesn't stretch it like the other turtles. I'm so worried. I can't bring it to the vet 'till tomorrow? To make it even worse, I don't know any vet! What should I do with this turtle? I want to keep it! I love my turtle!

Dear Yahoo Friends,

I live in the country in an old wooden frame home. The home is in good shape and sound. Two years ago I saw a large black snake crossing my back yard while I was doing yard work. I took my rake and picked the joker up and slung him into the woods. A few months later I was upgrading the electrical wiring this pretty little home. Working in the attic I looked to my rear and in the corner of the attic where the eve meets the attic floor a large black snake was coiled up observing me. After doing battle for about 40 minutes with him, I did him in and got rid of it. Yesterday, looking for an item in the attic I noticed a large snake skin on top of the insullation. How do I prevent these critters from gettin in my house? HELP ME!

Which one could survive without live (maybe not dead) animals for food? And doesn't cost that much and would be the best pet.
