while if i let him go in the pool? Will the cloirine kill him? I havent done this but am tempted to let him feel free and open instead of the little tank i have him in, he wont eat the food pellets i bought him he just like taking off around the house and chilling on the carpet.

Technically, they can live in chlorine. They are pretty hardy, but I'd be careful. He isn't eating because maybe 1. His tank is too small
2. He is stressed
3. His water is too cold/hot
4. You don't have a proper basking or UVB lamp to allow him to digest the vitamins in his food
5. He doesn't have a place to get out of the water
6. He doesn't like pellets. Turtles need a variety of food including proteins like bugs and leafy veggies. The pellets won't cut it.

Please get him a bigger tank and a proper basking area

Too much chlorine is bad for a turtle, and the most likely reasons for a turtle not eating include:
- TOO SMALL of a tank. Aim for at least 10 gallons of swimming space per inch of turtle length.
- TOO COOL of temps. Aim for 75-80F water, 90F basking sites

I had a buddy one time that let his turlte swim in his chlorinated pool all the time. I agree with the guy above me with too much chlorine is bad but my friends turtle is still alive and well
