It depends dude. Firstly, the color may affect the case. And also when they give out mating signals, lets see wat happens. Maybe u can do a little experiment...hmm...OH! I know, but if if the diamond python is really hungry, it may hav no choice but to eat the carpet python. But it is less likely to happen, as diamond's can go without food for up to 6 weeks! But you will not know it until u try, that is how we get hybrids. Put them under the same environmental conditions, maybe it will work...

To be honest, I feel that the diamond python will have issues dependent upon the following:
1. Is it a shag pile or Berber carpet
2. Colour of the carpet may affect the amorous nature of your
python
3. Do you know if your diamond python has ever suffered carpet
burns
4. You have not nominated the age of your python, so is it legal
and, has it had previous breeding experience.
5. The hardest thing to handle here is, does 6 ft go into 2 ft with-
out causing pain.
That's it.
Can't think of any more... Enjoy and Cheers...

I don't know if they could...

It might depend on which is male and which is female.

But from my experience with snakes, I am going to guess that you are going to end up with a larger diamond and your carpet will be missing.

Contact a python breeder on the net and ask them. If you can do it, they probably have tried it. I dont' recall ever seeing a hybrid like that, and that is why I say they probably can't.
