I have four turtles. I'm so worried of one of them. I gave it food, but the rest of the turtles ate it all and the one doesn't want to eat. It just sleep and sleep and sleep and wakes up ever thirty minutes for five minutes then it sleeps again. So, I seperated it from the other turtles. I gave it food, but still, it doesn't want to eat. I just slept and slept. Usually, when I carry a turtle in my had, it will try to escape, but this one just looked at me and sleeps again. Most of my turtles stick out their necks but this one nearly keeps his/her head inside and goes out only when it's awake, but it doesn't stretch it like the other turtles. I'm so worried. I can't bring it to the vet 'till tomorrow? To make it even worse, I don't know any vet! What should I do with this turtle? I want to keep it! I love my turtle!

maybe thats just the way that one acts. Its like Beta fish, when I first got one is swam around all of the time and then it just would float around and barely eat. It was fine... also, a vet can't really cure a turtle because of the way their form is. Also... turtles sometimes live longer than people do... so I wouldn't really be worried about the guy.

Some turtles are taught in pet store to think that summer is the only season of the year because of the light and constant warmth. Others know that its winter and hibernate. My turtle hibernates every year around November and he stops eating drinking and everything and goes to his hut to sleep in until about march/April. Your turtle might just be having a late hibernation. But if you've had the turtle for more than one winter and he's never done this you should look for illness or other indicators to what he's going through. If you need a second opinion vist your local animal hospital.

I am assuming your talking aqautic turtles. Place your turtle under a heat lamp to warm it. You should also be running a UVB/UVA light for them. Your other turtles may not show it now but if the temp your keeping them at is to low or there is'nt enough UVB/UVA light it could be affecting them in different ways. I own 12 aqautic turtles and there water is kept at 72 degrees with 3 basking spot ranging from 87 degrees, 91 degrees, and 95 degree's. My turtles are kept in an indoor pond that has 1200 gallons in. Your turtles need the room to excerice and stretch. If your tank is to small it will also affect them. A 75 gallon tank is appropriate for a single turtle. Good luck

In cases like this, we would always recommend that you review the basic cares. Without knowing the species, I can only suggest that you go to http://www.austinsturtlepage.com for great help.
