I was keeping another hatchling in my tank with my turtle for about a month. I don't have that hatcling in there anymore and now he is acting all funny. He isn't really eating...he isn't acting as active as usual. I haven't seen him once get up on his rock to bask. I know that turtles are fine a lone..but he is really acting funny now that, that other turtle is not in there anymore with him. What should I do?

Changing habitats stresses a turtle. While they do not need cagemates, if they get used to one then taking it away is a stress.

Double check your cares to make sure everything else is rock solid- sometimes changing one thing accidentally changes something else. You can find good care requirements at http://www.redearslider.com

Not an expert on turtles, but loneliness is probably possible. More like a depression of sort. Ask a vet. The Chicago Turtle club can probably help you too, see link below. If all else fails and it still acts funny, it might be a clown turtle looking for a circus. Just kidding. Hope you find the problem is.
