My sister just got an female adult leopard gecko from petsmart. The clerk told us that we could feed her(the gecko affectionetly named Sahara like the desert) fruit. I think the clerk said apples and oranges but I want to be sure exactly what Kinds so not to make our new family member sick.

Many people have posted on other ?'s that leo's only eat insects and if that is what you have to say then don't post here. I have been doing research for over an hour on articles about geckos and reptile experts have said that leo's will eat fruit so do your reseach if you want to be a proper leopard gecko parent!!

Have had baby ig for about 4 days--he barely lets us pick him up and won't take food or even stick out his tongue--he will eat but it's been very little--and his head turned black! How long does it take for igs to adjust? Have also left him alone and not pressured him to visit with us.

I found out that they are illegal because or their size. I have them in a plastic storage bin with gravel in the bottom so that there is a resting area and a swimming area.

I'm looking for a good sized tank for my turtles (75 gallon for two late juvenille RESs). I haven't been able to find one that isn't like a fish tank. It needs to be long and deep without as much emphasis on the height.

I could make it or buy it, but I need to know a good place to get one. If you have an idea on how to make it, please give me as much instruction as you can. I'm really kinda stuck on the $200 mark without the stand (stand will be another $200 I'm sure).

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys. I just purchased a new female albino leo. She is quite small, probably about 4 inches. I have a full grown male along with another female. My substrate is VERY fine sand, and I am a bit worried about impacting the little one's intestines, so my girlfriend mentioned getting some of that cabinet liner, that ya put in the bottom of a cupboard to keep glasses from slipping etc. If I get this stuff and just cut it to fit my terrarium, and place it over the sand will it harm my geckos?? Is there possibly any chemicals in that stuff?? I am on a pretty tight budget and don't really wanna change everything around. Thanks.

I have this little fresh-water turtle, and while it seems healthy enough, it will not eat anything at all! I have seen similar turtles grow to astonishing sizes, devouring practically anything.

I have a red footed tortoise, up till now I have had him on and all vegetarian diet. I wanted to add a little protein, would egg beaters be a good solution, the have no carbs nor fat, 100% protein. I don't want him to get too much protein either, how often should i give him protein? He is just under a year and he eats every other day.

It was a female green anole(lizard). She began about 3 months ago starting to become noticably thinner and bones were visible under skin. Died in the afternoon, with an open wound on the side of her stomache. It was brown and it was like her stomache ruptured or burst. I couldnt do anything, she was about 4 yrs old and since i am only so old i couldnt take her to the vet do to my family thinking it want important enough to spend money on. What happened?

I have REALLY tiny white insects that I just noticed in my tree frog's habitat. If you make a dot with a pen on a piece of paper, they are about half of that size. I think they are insects, they look like they have six legs. They don't look dangerous or harmful, and they aren't any where besides the tank (I checked my whole bedroom.) How do you think they got in there? Maybe from the feeder crickets? Are they harmful or helpful (harmful- cause damage to frog, helpful- clean up cage) and should I get rid of them (and how).
Thank you to whoever can give me any information, it's very appreciated! =]
