Are there any dangers in this? Also one of our snakes is sick, should i keep away?

My bearded dragon is on his branch under the basking light with his mouth open. Does that mean hes too hot? If so please answer quickly! Also i have a couple other questions!

1. I accidentally gave the bearded dragon a piece of apple that was a little too big. I carefully kept his mouth open and grabbed the apple, as i was pulling it out, he jumped for the apple and bit me. I didnt hold it against him, he was hungry, But he did get a good piece of my thumb off. It isnt bleeding no more so it didnt hit an artery, but should i be worried about any diseases or illnesses?

2. When a bearded dragon puffs up his beard while sleeping calmy, does that mean he is having a dream and chasing prey?

3. When a beardie puffs up his face but not turn black, does that mean your aggravating him?

The babies are about 4 months old and I keep them in a big tank of water with a rock they can climb on to get out of the water. In the last week or so I hear whistling noises coming from the tank. Has anyone heard this? I am guessing that it's a form of communication but can't find anything on line about it. Can anyone help me?

hi i have a water dragon and i am finding very hard to keep the humidity up in the tank .i have mess on the top so i have coverd that up it will get up to 50 then with in 10/15 min it has droped to 20 or even lower then i have to spray again and i have to spray ever half an hour please can you help as i dont wont to lose munch that his name thanks shaz

i have a uv light as well as a heat light, plenty of food and water, keep his tank clean, i have a constant water drip from the little dripper thing, as well as i spray water in his tank several times a day. he's eating drinking and pooping. I'm not sure what it is he needs, any help you can provide would be great. I've had him for almost 2 weeks now.

I just bought two slidders home the other day and one of them maybe has taken about 4 bites of food and the other has not eaten yet. Any tricks i can use to help them? I am guessing they just need to get use to their surroundings. How long can they go without food?

His undershell is a yellow-ish translucent color. He doesn't eat like he used to and doesn't really swim around in his home.

I want to put an old piece of wood inside the tank to add a little hiding place for the turtles because now they only have plants to hinde in! Is it ok to put a peice of wood from my garden in the tank if I soak it in water for a while first? Also, should I bleach the wood to get rid of bacteria that could have developed in the back garden?

I have a red ear slider turtle somewhere at home. He's been missing for two days and I've searched everywhere for him. I've placed a little dish of water near where I last saw him so I'm hoping that he will come for the water when he's thirsty. I'm really worried about him because he needs to be in at all times and it's been two days already. My dad says turtles can sense where water is but I'm in doubt because my turtle is grow in captivity and I'm afraid he might be incapable of finding water.

about a 3 months ago I got my turtle a heater for the water. Ive had him fo a year and before I got him the heater I would always take him out for a while so he wouldnt be cold all the time. he liked coming out of the tank then because he would always climb on of my hand when it put it in there and when i'd put him back he would move from my hand. it was so cute. I also had a gold fish that grew up with him in that same tank. They would never bother each other. My turtle is growing but still small he can still fit in the palm of my hand. Lately I've noticed my turtle snapping and chasing at my goldfish. A few weeks ago, when the weather got colder I put my 2 guppies in the tank too so they can be by the heater too again Iv been observing them & my turtle still chases and tries to bit my gold fish but not at the guppies. Since I got him that heater I haven't taken him out or handled as much too. A couple days ago I took my turtle out and he opened his mouth and i think he hissed at me.

Ok I have two iguanas that I really worry about. Now I just moved to a basement where there is no direct sunlight which I know the iguanas loved, now I only have them with a heat rock, sand and a UV light. Do you think that is enough for them or do they need direct sunlight. I also live in Chicago...

Ok there is like no way my mother will even get us fish, and never a dog..we found a frog on our deck we had for long time then it died. We fed it and cared for it played with and etc..I really like dogs the most but how about a lizard help me convince her to get me a lizard!!!!!!! my father wont care he will even let us a have a dog I bet he wont care at all about having a lizard

I bought two red ear sliders yesterday, and they are in a small plastic tank right now. I found it too small so i bought them 10 gallon tank. It came with a light on top. The heater i had in the little one brought the water up to 86, (I took it out right away and the water is at 76 now) im wondering if the heater will put it at 80 because it would be in a bigger tank? The pet store seemed to think that, that heater would keep it at 80. Also i set the bigger tank up to let the water get room temperature. How long should i wait to let them move in? I do not want to shock them
