What kind of dragon is it? Chinese water dragon? Bearded dragon? Other?

Right now bearded dragons are in the time of year where they brumate. It's not as deep a sleep as full hibernation. Do a Google search on -bearded dragon brumate- and see what comes up. They will sleep for a couple of days at a time...they may eat a little and then go back to sleep for a few days. Keep food in there as you normally would, just not a lot. If you see your dragon eating..offer it some more if it finishes what was there.

If you have a Chinese water dragon...make sure your care is right. This would be a good idea if it's a beardie, too. Concentrate on diet, UVB and temps (and humidity for a CWD) to make sure your doing what's needed to keep a healthy dragon (whatever kind it is).

What flavor dragon do you have?

Sometimes reptiles will just fast for whatever reason, especially in the winter time when they feel like they should be brumating (which is kind of like hibernation). Keep an eye on him, though, and if he doesn't start eating again, take him to a vet. A dwindling appetite can be a result of anything from impaction to parasites to too small of an enclosure.

My bearded dragon stopped eating for a while, as well. I assumed that as long as I offerred him food, he would eat rather than starve himself, even if he didn't particularly like what I offerred him. No such luck. Now, we're dealing with a serious fatty liver as a result.

If you've got a beardie, yourself, (or some other kind of omnivorous dragon), make sure that you are offerring him a wide variety of fruits, veggies, and the occassional feeder insects. He might have just decided that he doesn't like what you're giving to him.

Good luck with him.

If your talking about a bearded dragon, or any other lizzard, make sure the heat & humidity are high enough, and if not your dragon may be prepearing to "hibernate" lizzards hibernate differently than mammals and they will remain awake at times but move slowly or not often. If your beardie or lizzard is still active, take your lizzard to a reptile vet. The process is actually called burmating and your lizzard will experiance this in the winter months, still put food and water in though.

well the weather is getting cooler and all reptiles will slow down their eating in the cooler months. as long as he is drinking water and eating a little bit then he is fine. i have 2 beardies and they are going through the same thing right now. that's why they eat alot in the spring and summer because they are trying to store enough fat to last the winter months when it is colder. if he is alert when you hold him or when you have the light on him then he is fine. keep the day temp around 84-86 and the evening temp at 80-82. don't keep to warm but keep the heat on him, and no matter what keep the under tank heater on all the time because if you don't have the light on him in the day or night then he will need to stay warm. good luck.

Bearded dragons generally try to hibernate through the winter. If your dragon is not losing weight, he's probably fine. If he starts to lose weight, take him to a vet.

not sure which kind of dragons you have
but please be careful of "waste away disease"
which seems to affect bearded dragons quite often
I had to force feed my bearded for months at a time once
(my female)
I lost my male to this disease, even though I force fed him for many months
you should get him to a vet if at all possible, there is also medicine for this disease (it works sometimes) and other additives that you can buy at the pet shop to make the food more enticing to them.
good luck

Well, I'm not sure what exactly you are talking about. Astral dragons are energy and I don't know of another kind of dragon unless you mean a komodo dragon, which are endangered and illegal to have unless you have some special licenses.

If you mean a komodo dragon I would suggest turning it over to the humane society in your area. They would have the best iformation and be able to care for the animal better than you.

I don't know too much about reptiles, but I know that they don't eat every day. If they eat prey, they can go for weeks or even longer. Make sure the temperature is right and that sort of thing.
If you are worried, you should check a book at the library or call a vet.
