There are many different species of rat snake.

The one most commonly found in captivity is the corn snake, a great 'beginner' snake if you are thinking as one for a pet.

The are also black rat snakes, baird's ratsnake, transpesco ratsnake and many more. Have a look on google to find out the specific species you are interested in and then try google image search to find pictures. I've put links to a few websites you might find useful below:
