Sea turtles- unknown, estimated 100-150

Giant tortoises in protected situations- 150-200+

Giant tortoises in the wild- about 100-150

Medium tortoises- 80-120

Box turtles and small tortoises- 60-100

Most aquatic turtles- 20-40 years

Pet turtles kept in a small tank without filtration, proper light, and a poor diet- 2-6 months

depends on the species. the two hundred years is applicable to the tortoise ( which is different from a turtle) as one recently died at i believe 280 years old. i know red eared sliders can live half a century. there was an article in the science section of the times about the lifespan of turtles and tortoises. its very interesting, new studies have shown that turtles and tortoises organs do not deteriorate as they age, and thus have the possibility of an indefinite life span.
